Thursday 14th – Trip down to Caridon Camping (with Hattie) near Looe in Cornwall for South Western Bongo Bash. Arrived just after 7 still in daylight for easy camp set up – after driving past Ian the organiser, who had the new revesring mirror. He thought we new what we were doing and where to go… A glass or two and pot noodles for tea.
Friday – Bus into Looe, walk to beach, lovely cream tea and Davidstow cheese on way back, bus back to camp – stop right outside. Weather good with the occasional shower. Chilli for tea using new Aldi oven/grill
Saturday – a wet day but we managed a short cycle ride with Lewis and Morg in a dry patch. Finally got to use my new low gear which tended to jump off – annoyingly. nice barbecue in the evenibg although had to cue in the rain. a few drinks and a with fellow bongonauts in the bar after
Sunday – lovely day – almost cycled to Talland bay.. Lunch in hotel garden overlooking the bay. Easy downhill ride to get there, but had to walk back up – especially as I was still recovering from a heavy cold.. Too many cars, but hedgerows were interesting and a butterfly landed on Katie’s helmet for quite a while. Returned to pleasant evening watching the sun go down with a nice lager in hand while Kate got friendly with two lurchers. Sausages for tea.
Awoke relatively early and gradually decamped leaving just afer 11. Visited Yvonne in Launceston on the way back home.
