Sunday – Rode to Chester Fort, Got shopping at Hexham Waitrose with Carl. Listened to cricket (England v Sri Lanka at Riverside) in the car with Nevis – Pizza that evening

Monday – listened to cricket again and watched highlights on Channel 5 later. Said goodbye to Carl and Ness and then popped down to Bardon Mill  in the car. Flood damage there thwarted are plans.

Tuesday – Drove up to Housesteads and some other forts. Quite a nice day bit cold for cycling.  Had a look at Hexham and Corbridge. Had a look at Allendale afterwards. Had some nice late lunch and bought a silk print. Shopping at Haydon Bridge (Haydon to its’ friends…).

Wednesday – Kielder forest. Cycled from Kielder Castle to Lipish and back. Shopping at Haydon Bridge.

Thursday – Drove to  Wylam for George Stephenson cottage and Durham City for castle and cathedral and books… shopping at Haydon Bridge

Friday – cycled the loop from Prudhoe to Newburn and back. Passed George’s place again… Shopping in Hexham for pie… got red car park disc at last! No photos

Saturday – left at 10 to drive home via Tow Law, Witton le Wear and Eckingham (to see Ness racing) and of course the Gloucester Services.
